Samsung and SK Hynix Leverage ETF Inflows Plummet to 53.4 Billion Won in Past Week

According to Newsis citing KOSCOM data, inflows to 14 Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix single-stock leverage ETFs fell sharply to 53.4 billion won in the past week through July 24, down significantly from 6.5 trillion won over the past month and 13 trillion won cumulatively since their May 27 launch. KODEX SK Hynix single-stock leverage experienced a net outflow of 9.8 billion won, while KODEX Samsung Electronics saw a 75 billion won net outflow and TIGER Samsung Electronics saw a 54.3 billion won outflow. Individual investors net-sold 159 billion won from KODEX SK Hynix leverage between July 20-23, alongside 45 billion won outflows from KODEX Samsung Electronics leverage. The slowdown reflects a normalization of overheated speculative demand following the South Korean government's July 16 regulatory measures, which raised minimum deposit requirements from 10 million to 30 million won and strengthened leverage product restrictions.
