Russia Hints Ukraine First Used Long-Range Ballistic Missile, Shot Down 1 Unit in 24 Hours

According to Russian Defense Ministry, in the past 24 hours, Russia shot down what it described as a long-range ballistic missile used by Ukraine for the first time in combat, along with 7 guided bombs and 602 fixed-wing drones. The Defense Ministry did not disclose the specific model of the weapon or provide further details. Ukraine has not publicly confirmed the use of ballistic missiles.

Ukraine's state-owned defense company Fire Point said its FP-9 ballistic missile is approaching flight testing. The company's chief designer Denis Shtyleman stated in June that testing could begin in summer or early autumn of this year following engine development completion. Fire Point said the missile has a range of approximately 850 kilometers and is designed to strike deep targets in Russia.
