Rubio Meets Lebanese President Aoun on July 19; Trump to Receive Aoun at White House on July 21

According to the U.S. State Department, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio met with Lebanese President Aoun on July 19 to discuss implementation of the U.S.-Lebanon-Israel framework agreement. The two discussed disarming Hezbollah and destroying its "terrorist infrastructure" in Lebanon, with Rubio reaffirming U.S. support for the trilateral agreement.

Trump is scheduled to meet with Aoun at the White House on July 21, marking the first formal bilateral meeting between the Lebanese president and a U.S. president since Aoun took office in January 2025, and the first visit by a Lebanese head of state to the White House since 2009.
