Q2 2026 Records 83 Crypto Hacks in Highest Quarter on Record, $755.3M in Losses

According to DefiLlama data analyzed by market intelligence platform Unfolded, Q2 2026 recorded 83 separate crypto hacks—the highest number for any quarter on record. Despite the surge in attack frequency, total losses reached $755.3 million, significantly below the $3.56 billion lost in Q4 2020, indicating attackers are conducting more frequent but smaller-scale exploits rather than occasional mega-heists. Cross-chain bridges were the largest source of losses, accounting for approximately $351 million.
