Powell May Depart After Fed Inspector General Report, Hassett Says

According to Hassett, director of the White House National Economic Council, Fed Chair Powell may choose to leave his position as a board member after the Federal Reserve’s inspector general completes its investigation into the renovation of the Fed building. Hassett stated that Powell could find an opportune moment to depart once the inspector general’s report is released and he is satisfied with the findings.
