Over 10 Semiconductor Firms Raise Prices Starting July 1; Apple Lobbies U.S. for Chinese Chip Supplier Access

According to statistics, more than 10 semiconductor and related companies have announced or signaled price increases starting July 1, covering key stages from materials to chips. Murata is raising prices on AI server and automotive-grade MLCC components by 10%-40%, while Japan Oxygen raises ammonia prices over 30%. MediaTek has warned of chip price hikes, with Infineon and Texas Instruments implementing their second price increase this year. Domestic chipmakers like Yangjie Technology and Liaong Micro are raising prices by 10%-15%.

Meanwhile, Apple is lobbying the U.S. government to approve purchases of memory chips from Chinese supplier Changxin Memory (CXMT), according to reports. Apple has engaged with the Commerce Department and other government officials over the past month seeking approval to ease rising DRAM costs. The company recently raised iPad and Mac prices by about 20% to offset storage chip shortages.
