OpenClaw Adds Native Chat to Mac Client, Sets GPT-5.6 as Default Model

According to Beating, OpenClaw released version 2026.7.1 for macOS, adding native chat and conversation management to its desktop client. Users can now search conversation history, switch models and inference levels, use slash commands, export chat logs, and view context usage within the Mac app. The new version defaults to GPT-5.6 for fresh installations while preserving existing user model preferences. OpenClaw also added support for Claude Sonnet 5, Mythos 5, and Meta Muse Spark 1.1.
