OpenAI's Next Model Being Designed by AI, SoftBank CEO Says

According to CNBC, on Monday, SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son said that OpenAI's next model is being designed by another AI model. Son, who spoke with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and the company's engineers, told CNBC that "a model is designing" a future model—a development he characterized as a sign of approaching "super intelligence." Son also revised his timeline for artificial super intelligence (ASI), telling CNBC he now expects it to arrive within the next two years, down from his previous estimate of 10 years.
