OpenAI's Former CTO Aide Bianca Martin Joins Foundation to Lead $1B AI Safety Initiative

According to monitoring by Beating, Bianca Martin recently announced she is joining OpenAI Foundation full-time to lead the AI Resilience project under co-founder Wojciech Zaremba. Previously, Martin served as chief of staff to former CTO Mira Murati and worked on emerging technology risks in the AGI preparedness team.

OpenAI Foundation is establishing new business operations, with plans to invest at least $1 billion over the next year across life sciences, labor economics, community projects, and AI resilience—the latter focused on child AI safety, biological defense, and independent model testing. The foundation's equity stake in OpenAI, retained during a restructuring in October last year, is now valued at over $180 billion, up from $130 billion in March.
