According to Ondo Finance, the company launched tokenized versions of BlackRock's iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) and Micron shares on Thursday under a third-party custodial framework aligned with SEC guidance issued in January. The tokens are issued on Ethereum and backed 1:1 by securities held through regulated custodians. Token holders retain standard shareholder rights, including issuer communications and onchain proxy voting via Broadridge. The launch represents the first time a third party has tokenized U.S.-listed securities on a public blockchain while operating within existing U.S. regulatory infrastructure, moving away from offshore models. The broader tokenized equities sector reached $5.5 billion in market capitalization as of June, up 147% from the start of the year.
