OKX launched a 20 USDT airdrop for Venezuelan users affected by twin earthquakes that struck on June 24, 2026, leaving over 2,000 dead and hundreds of buildings collapsed. The cryptocurrency exchange announced the initiative targeting residents of La Guaira, the state most affected by the natural disaster. The move follows growing cryptocurrency adoption in Latin America and Binance's earlier $3 million pledge for earthquake relief in Venezuela.
Using its Latin America social media account, OKX stated: "We know that these days have been difficult. But we have also seen something extraordinary: the solidarity of Venezuela and the entire international community, which fills us with hope." The exchange emphasized the cryptocurrency community's response to the disaster in one of the region's countries with growing crypto adoption.
OKX will distribute 20 USDT to each user with proof of address verifying they reside in La Guaira. The exchange confirmed funds will be automatically credited to accounts that fulfill the POA requirement. "No registration, claim code, or qualifying transaction is required; the 20 USDT reward is automatically credited once eligibility is confirmed," OKX explained.
The exchange indicated support is limited and will be distributed on a "first-come, first-served" basis. OKX did not disclose the total funds available for this initiative. The exchange concluded: "We know that the road ahead will require effort, help, and support from everyone for a long time. But you will not walk it alone. We are one region, and we will be with you on this journey. We stand with you, Venezuela."
