Nvidia's Credit Default Swap Surges to Record High on $750 Billion AI Infrastructure Deal

According to ICE Data Services, Nvidia's 5-year credit default swap spreads surged to about 0.82% on July 27, marking the largest single-day move since active trading began in November 2025. The jump of approximately 0.14 percentage points reflects investor concern over the chipmaker's potential financial risks from its AI infrastructure investments.

The spike was triggered by reports that Nvidia is negotiating up to $250 billion in guarantees for OpenAI to access U.S. data center resources, and a separate $500 billion AI infrastructure project with South Korea's SK Group, bringing combined potential commitments to over $750 billion.
