Nvidia Secures 30M Warrant Options from Bitcoin Miner IREN to Deploy 5GW AI Infrastructure

According to The Block, on May 8, Nvidia and IREN Limited, a bitcoin miner transitioning to AI infrastructure, announced a strategic partnership to accelerate AI data center deployment. The two companies plan to deploy up to 5 gigawatts of Nvidia DSX architecture AI infrastructure across IREN’s global data center network, targeting AI-native startups and enterprise customers. As part of the agreement, IREN granted Nvidia five-year warrants to purchase up to 30 million shares at $70 per share, which if fully exercised would total $2.1 billion in payments. Future deployment will focus on IREN’s 2GW Sweetwater campus in Texas as a flagship DSX project. IREN’s stock rose over 25% to above $71 in after-hours trading on Thursday.
