According to Jin10, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on May 18 that Norway detained two Chinese nationals on suspicion of espionage activities. One male suspect was arrested recently for alleged spy activities, while another female suspect was detained weeks earlier on suspicion of satellite data espionage. China’s Foreign Ministry stated it firmly opposes any unfounded accusations and malicious smears, and expects Norway to fully protect the lawful rights of Chinese citizens.
