Nikkei 225 Forecast to Hit 69,000 by End of 2027, Up From 64,996 on May 26

According to a Reuters survey, analysts forecast Japan's Nikkei 225 index to reach 69,000 by the end of 2027, driven by artificial intelligence optimism and strong corporate earnings. The index closed at 64,996.09 on May 26. Yunosuke Ikeda, macro research chief at Nomura Securities, noted the rally has exceeded his prior expectations; he previously projected 63,000 by December and 65,000 a year later. Among 12 respondents to a supplementary question, seven maintained their AI-driven outlook for stocks, while five expressed increased optimism.
