NEAR Deploys v2.13.0 With ML-DSA-65 Quantum-Resistant Signatures

According to NEAR Protocol, the blockchain deployed its v2.13.0 mainnet upgrade on July 14, introducing the NIST-approved ML-DSA-65 quantum-resistant digital signature system. Account holders can migrate to post-quantum cryptography through a single on-chain transaction while retaining their existing account identities and assets.

The upgrade also includes automatic shard splitting to improve network scalability without governance intervention, and a gas sponsorship mechanism enabling applications to cover users' transaction fees to streamline onboarding.
