National Pension Service Conducts 466.5 Billion Won Net Selling Over Past Week, Shifts to Shinhan Financial and SK Hynix

According to Korea Exchange on July 8, the National Pension Service conducted net selling of 466.5 billion won in the South Korean stock market from July 1-7, averaging 77.7 billion won daily—on par with the first-half daily average of 73.8 billion won. The pension fund sold major holdings including SK Square (270 billion won), Samsung Electro-Mechanics (252.5 billion won), and Samsung Electronics (142.8 billion won), while purchasing Shinhan Financial (94.8 billion won), SK Hynix (46.8 billion won), and Samsung Biologics (21.7 billion won). National Pension Service Chairman Kim Sung-joo emphasized the fund would adjust positions "gradually according to market conditions," stating the rebalancing posed no "bomb risk" to the market.
