Nasdaq 100 Falls 1.2%, Semiconductor Stocks Lead Declines on July 24

The Nasdaq 100 index fell 1.2% today (July 24). U.S. semiconductor and storage stocks were hit harder, with the storage chip index down over 6.4%. Major storage component stocks declined significantly, including SanDisk down 9.4%, Micron down 6.6%, Western Digital down 5.8%, and Seagate Technology down 4.9%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 4.1%, with chip design and equipment companies leading losses. Credo Technology dropped 10%, Astera Labs fell 9.3%, Coherent down 8.8%, and Marvell Technology fell 7%.
