Mozilla's Project Nova Redesign Adds Toggle to Disable All AI Features on May 21

According to Mozilla's announcement on May 21, the company unveiled Project Nova, a full redesign of Firefox rolling out later this year, featuring a prominent settings control to disable all AI features entirely. The redesign includes rounded tabs, a refreshed color palette, and anti-AI privacy controls without buried menus or dark patterns. The timing coincides with browser industry backlash: Chrome has been quietly installing an undeletable Gemini Nano model on users' PCs, while Brave launched a paid alternative in April—Brave Origin ($60 one-time purchase, free on Linux) that strips out AI, Wallet, Rewards, and telemetry entirely.
