According to Beating, Yang Xinyu, a new team member at Moonshot AI, explained how Kimi can deliver K3 by contrasting the company with industry competitors. Having recently joined from academia, Yang identified four structural flaws among rival AI labs: arrogance (established teams believing the AI race is over), recklessness (younger labs chasing trends without foundational rigor), timidity (strong teams unwilling to pursue industry leadership), and misaligned incentives (individuals prioritizing personal credit over AGI progress). Yang stated that Moonshot AI stands apart by maintaining intense collective focus on AGI development. He highlighted the company's approach: prioritize model building over narrative, conduct rigorous experiments, optimize by metrics rather than intuition, reject failing approaches quickly, and avoid reckless gambling.
