According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), jet fuel exports from the Middle East to Europe plummeted in April, dropping from 330,000 barrels per day (bpd) in March to just 60,000 bpd, primarily due to the Iran war and effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz disrupting Persian Gulf supplies. The IEA’s monthly report noted that Europe’s April jet fuel net imports reached only 70 percent of March levels, falling short of the 80-90 percent replacement threshold needed to avoid summer shortages.
