Micron Plans Up to $3 Billion Investment in U.S. Semiconductor Supply Chain, Including $500M for Global Wafers Texas Fab

According to Bloomberg, Micron Technologies plans to invest up to $3 billion to strengthen the U.S. semiconductor supply chain ecosystem. The investment includes $500 million in financing support for Global Wafers' 300mm fab in Sherman, Texas. Micron will provide the $500 million financing while Global Wafers contributes 300mm native silicon wafer production capacity. The two companies will sign a 10-year supply agreement for native silicon wafer capacity.
