Masayoshi Son Says AI Wave Could Be 50 Times Larger Than Internet Boom; SoftBank Invests €4.5B in French Data Centers

According to Guru Club, on June 1, Masayoshi Son stated that the artificial intelligence wave has just begun and could be 10 to 50 times larger than the internet boom from over 20 years ago. As a guest of French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, SoftBank announced last weekend plans to invest €4.5 billion ($4.8 billion) in building data centers and AI infrastructure in the Hauts-de-France region by 2031. The three facilities will have a combined capacity of 3.1 gigawatts, with potential expansion to €7.5 billion. Macron stated that SoftBank represents over half of the €93 billion in commitments announced at France's investment summit.
