A Kremlin-backed Telegram channel released footage on May 13, 2026, allegedly depicting how Vladimir Putin’s Satan-2 super-missile could destroy Downing Street, according to the Daily Star. The menacing warnings directed at the British Prime Minister’s official residence come amid Russia’s claims of a successful test of a 208-tonne intercontinental missile.
Voennaya Khronika, a Telegram channel meaning “War Chronicles” with 310,000 followers, published footage showing how the missile could destroy Downing Street. A separate image released by the channel shows Putin’s Oreshnik super weapon targeted at NATO’s headquarters, according to the source.
A second Kremlin-aligned account, Barrel of Black Caviar, stated: “Sarmat can destroy the British Prime Minister’s residence” and “Oreshnik can destroy NATO’s residence.”
Putin unveiled his newest weapons system on the same day the threats surfaced. According to the Kremlin, the weapon measures the height of a 14-storey building and the Russian leader claimed it constitutes “the most powerful missile in the world.”
Putin stated the warhead delivered a yield four times that of any Western counterpart. He also claimed the warhead travelled a distance of 21,750 miles. “It has the ability to penetrate all existing and future anti-missile defense systems,” Putin said, according to the article. The Russian leader asserted the missile system has “no counterparts in the world.”
“The missile can move not only on a ballistic but also on a suborbital trajectory, which allows for a range of over 21,750 miles while doubling its accuracy and the ability to penetrate all existing and future missile defense systems,” Putin added, as reported in the source.
Putin delivered warnings to Kyiv, threatening a devastating strike should Ukrainian drones disrupt his major military parade in Moscow. Officials within the Russian Defence Ministry warned that civilians and diplomats should “leave the city promptly” if Volodymyr Zelensky targets the Red Square event, as it would trigger an immediate “massive retaliatory missile strike,” according to the article.
The Russian statement suggests the potential deployment of the hypersonic Oreshnik missile. “If you use several such systems in one strike at once - two, three, or four systems - it will be comparable in strength to a nuclear strike,” Putin had previously said, according to the source.
One report cited in the article suggests that the mausoleum of Soviet founder Vladimir Lenin on Red Square could serve as a sanctuary for VIP guests attending the annual Victory Day parade.
