According to Investing.com, South Korea's KOSPI index dropped 4.46% to close at 6,516.27 on July 20, marking the worst one-month performance among major global indices. The index fell 24.75% over the past month (June 18 - July 17), outpacing declines in Russia's RTSI (-24.21%) and MOEX (-19.09%).
SK Securities analyst Jo Jun-ki noted that selling pressure concentrated in semiconductor stocks has spread to U.S. markets amid geopolitical risks and rising oil prices. However, domestic brokerages view the sharp decline as an opportunity, with KOSPI still up 54.63% year-to-date and valuations becoming more attractive after the recent correction.
