SemiAnalysis, a semiconductor and AI research firm, stated on July 22 that Moonshot AI's open-source model Kimi K3 (with 2.8 trillion total parameters, full weights to be released July 27) significantly outperformed Nvidia's flagship open-source model Nemotron 3 Ultra across multiple benchmark tests. The research firm directly criticized the "Nemotron Committee" development model led by Huang Ren-yun, stating it is "not the correct path" for open-source AI. SemiAnalysis attributed the committee model's underperformance to structural flaws: a single alliance architecture restricts technical innovation pathways and breeds groupthink, contradicting the essence of open-source development.
