Japan's Ruling LDP Approves Proposal to Build National AI-Blockchain Financial System

According to The Block, Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) formally approved a new policy proposal titled "Next-generation AI & Onchain Finance Concept" on Tuesday. The proposal, led by LDP member Seiji Kihara, calls for building an automated financial infrastructure supporting 24/7 blockchain-enabled commerce. Key initiatives include tokenizing Bank of Japan deposits, supporting Japanese yen-denominated stablecoins, and establishing regional cooperation frameworks with Asian countries. The LDP also requested the Financial Services Agency to develop a five-year roadmap for public-private sector investments in AI and blockchain infrastructure.
