Japanese Household Assets Hit 2.386 Trillion Yen in March, Up 7.1% Year-over-Year

According to Japan's central bank's quarterly funds flow report, Japanese household assets reached 2.386 trillion yen (approximately $14.7 trillion) as of March end, up 7.1% year-over-year and marking the second-highest level on record. Household cash and deposits grew 0.6% to 1.126 trillion yen, while stock assets surged 28.6% to 398 trillion yen. The central bank's holdings of outstanding Japanese government bonds stood at 47.9%, the lowest level since the second quarter of 2020.
