According to the Israeli Defense Forces, on May 24 an airstrike in central Gaza killed Muhammad Abu Malu, described as a key figure in Hamas' weapons production department. The IDF said Malu provided critical technical support for the organization's weapon manufacturing and continued producing arms during the Israel-Hamas ceasefire. The military used precision-guided munitions and conducted aerial reconnaissance for the operation.
