Iran's Supreme Leader Approves Proposed Agreement Via Intermediaries, U.S. Official Says

According to a U.S. official, Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei has expressed satisfaction with a proposed agreement, communicated through intermediaries. The initial accord focuses on de-escalation and opening new negotiation channels, with complex issues including nuclear programs and sanctions deferred to later stages.

Under the preliminary framework, Iran will not receive immediate economic benefits. Any financial support or sanctions relief is contingent on Iran fulfilling its commitments. Economic incentives will be provided progressively by Washington if Iran surrenders highly enriched uranium or dismantles nuclear facilities.
