Iran States U.S. Bears Direct Responsibility for Strait of Hormuz Escalation on July 13

According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei on July 13, the terms of the Iran-U.S. memorandum of understanding regarding the Strait of Hormuz are explicit with no room for arbitrary interpretation. Baghaei stated that the U.S. bears direct responsibility for the recent escalation in the strait. He added that Iran maintains contact with Qatar, Oman, and Pakistan, with diplomatic efforts continuing.
