Iran Retains Two-Thirds Weapon Arsenal Amid Conflict, Retired U.S. Colonel Says

According to retired U.S. Air Force Colonel Cedric Leighton on July 27, Iran may have a longer-term advantage over the United States in sustaining a prolonged conflict. Leighton estimated that despite months of U.S. strikes, Tehran currently retains approximately two-thirds of its original weapon stockpile, including missiles, drones, and rockets. He noted that the U.S. has expended over 1,400 Patriot interceptor missiles in the conflict, a rate that could stretch munition replenishment timelines by years and strain U.S. defenses elsewhere.
