Iran Destroys 85 U.S. Military Facilities in Response to Airstrikes on July 8

According to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, on July 8, the Iranian military destroyed 85 U.S. military facilities located at Salman Port, Bahrain's Fifth Fleet base, and Al-Ali Salem Air Base in Kuwait as an initial response to American airstrikes. The statement also claimed that Iranian forces shot down an MQ-9 unmanned aircraft attempting to interfere with the operation.

The airstrike followed U.S. military operations against Iranian coastal bases in Hormozgan Province and Mahshahr earlier that day, which Iran said violated a ceasefire agreement. President Trump subsequently posted videos on social media showing ground facilities struck with flames and smoke at night, captioning one post with "Breaking: Major strikes on Iran."
