Iran Continues Talks With U.S. Despite 'Strong Distrust,' Says Foreign Ministry on May 20

GateNews
According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghae on May 20, Iran will continue negotiations with the United States while maintaining 'strong and justified distrust' of Washington. Baghae stated that Iran is engaged in ongoing information exchanges with the U.S. through Pakistani intermediaries. He emphasized that despite the U.S.'s negative track record over the past 18 months, Iran is pursuing diplomatic efforts with 'seriousness and good faith.' Iran's core demands include ending regional conflicts, unfreezing Iranian overseas assets, and halting what Tehran describes as 'maritime piracy' targeting Iranian shipping.
