According to Iranian state media, Iran claimed on May 10 that U.S. forces struck six civilian vessels. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards warned that any further interference with Iranian ships would trigger a strong response. A senior Iranian official cautioned against “closing the door” on the Strait of Hormuz, while military sources indicated that although conflict in the Persian Gulf has subsided, tensions could reignite if the U.S. continues targeting Iranian vessels.
Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State and presidential envoy discussed a potential U.S.-Iran agreement with Qatar’s Prime Minister. President Trump stated that Iran genuinely seeks a deal and predicted receiving Iran’s response “very soon.”
