Gate News message: Persija Jakarta, the oldest football club in Indonesian history, has announced that it will partner with Chiliz Group, a global blockchain sports and entertainment provider, to launch Persija fan tokens.

This initiative is intended to use digital means to connect the club more closely with fans around the world, further strengthening Chiliz’s influence in the Southeast Asian market.

Persija fan tokens will offer holders a range of interactive benefits, including voting rights in club decision-making, exclusive content, VIP experiences, gamified rewards, and digital collectibles. This means that both local Jakarta supporters and overseas fans can take part in the club’s development and day-to-day interactions through the tokens, enjoying a digitized participation experience.

Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz and Socios.com, said that Persija has one of Asia’s largest and most passionate fan communities, making it an ideal use case for fan tokens. Through this partnership, fans will gain real practical value and a voice in club affairs. Muhammad Prapanca, chairman of the Persija Jakarta club, also said that this partnership will further deepen the club’s connection with the Jakmania fan community and elevate the quality of interactive experiences worldwide.

Founded in 1928, Persija Jakarta is one of the founding members of the Football Association of Indonesia, and has won the top league 11 times. The club’s nickname, “Macan Kemayoran,” has millions of followers on social media and is known for having the largest and most passionate fan base in Asia. By joining the Chiliz ecosystem, Persija becomes another key partner club in Southeast Asia after Persib Bandung, Bali United, and Johor Darul Ta’zim, providing new momentum for the region’s football digitization.

The launch of these fan tokens not only offers Indonesian football fans an innovative way to participate, but also injects new energy into the Southeast Asian digital assets market. As Chiliz expands its business in the region, it may in the future encourage more clubs to adopt blockchain technology, boosting fan engagement and global brand influence, while further driving the integration of football and digital assets.
