India Proposes Stricter Fuel Efficiency Standards Through 2032 to Cut Oil Imports

According to Jin10 on July 17, India proposed new fuel efficiency standards for passenger vehicles to reduce oil imports and lower emissions, one of the main sources of urban pollution. The new standards will apply to vehicles produced over the next five years through March 2032, with consumption limits tightening annually. Import crude oil currently meets approximately 90% of India's oil demand.
