Hyundai Motor Stock Falls to 399,000 KRW, Down 49.1% in One Month Amid Strike and Profit Concerns

According to KB Securities, Hyundai Motor's stock price fell to 399,000 KRW on July 22, marking its lowest level in approximately six months after plummeting 49.1% from a peak of 783,000 KRW on July 1. The decline stems from labor strike disruptions and deteriorating second-quarter earnings expectations, with major brokerages revising profit forecasts downward.

Second-quarter results, to be announced on July 23, are expected to fall short of market consensus. KB Securities projects operating profit at 2.71 trillion KRW, down 10.3% from estimates. Production losses from strikes are estimated at 6.7 billion KRW cumulatively, with the ongoing labor dispute threatening further production disruptions if negotiations do not progress.
