Huawei Announces 'τ Law' at Shanghai Tech Conference, Plans New Kirin Chip by Fall

GateNews

According to a China Securities research report, Huawei announced the "τ Law" (Tao's Law) at the International Circuits and Systems Symposium on May 25 in Shanghai. The company's semiconductor division president He Tingbo introduced the new principle, marking China's first industry-guiding standard for semiconductor development. Based on this law, Huawei has successfully designed and mass-produced 381 chip models over the past six years.

The company plans to release a new Kirin smartphone processor this fall that will fully implement logic folding technology to enhance performance. By 2031, Huawei projects that advanced chips developed under the τ Law will achieve transistor density equivalent to the 1.4-nanometer process node.
