Hong Kong and Malaysia Expand Dual Listings, Broaden Fund Recognition Framework

According to Bloomberg, on Thursday (July 23), the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and Malaysia's Securities Commission signed an agreement to streamline the dual listing framework for initial public offerings (IPOs) between the two markets.

The regulators also agreed to expand the range of recognized products under their mutual fund recognition arrangement, including non-Islamic exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and real estate investment trusts (REITs), and to allow eligible funds to be cross-listed on both markets.
