HD Hyundai Marine Engine Surpasses Full-Year 2025 Orders in H1 2026, Posts 619.9B KRW in Contracts

According to Daol Investment & Securities on July 21, HD Hyundai Marine Engine and Hanwha Engine, which dominate South Korea's marine engine market, achieved record order volumes in the first half of 2026. HD Hyundai Marine Engine secured 619.9 billion won in contracts, exceeding its entire 2025 annual order of 615.9 billion won, including 446.3 billion won from Chinese shipbuilders alone. Hanwha Engine received 1.43 trillion won in orders, approaching its full-year 2025 total of 1.77 trillion won. Despite strong order momentum, both companies' stock prices have declined approximately 50 percent from their April peaks. Daol analysts rated both companies as "Buy," arguing that marine engine makers offer greater investment appeal than shipbuilders due to benefiting from China's rising shipyard market share.
