According to Mehr News Agency, Hassan Khomeini, grandson of Iran’s first Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini, said on May 9 that Iran’s Supreme Leader maintains full control over state affairs, with all decisions proceeding according to protocol and receiving the leader’s approval and signature. Khomeini made the remarks during a meeting with officials and rescue personnel from the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
