According to The Maeil Business Newspaper, Hanwha SemiConductor plans to build its eighth and largest production facility in South Korea next year (2027), driven by anticipated supply shortages in AI chip equipment. The new factory will be located adjacent to its seventh facility under construction in Incheon, according to chairman Kwak Dong-shin.

The company plans to establish a U.S. subsidiary in San Jose, California by the end of 2026 to strengthen technical support services amid growing demand from global chipmakers expanding their investments.
