Guo Lanfeng Calls for Income Distribution Reform to Boost Consumer Spending

According to Jin10 Data, on June 25, Guo Lanfeng, chairman of the China Economic System Reform Research Association, stated at the 2026 Summer Davos Forum that expanding consumption requires enhanced purchasing power, which depends not only on high-quality employment but also on income distribution reform. He noted that labor is currently disadvantaged in income allocation, and as most consumption comes from ordinary workers, reforming the income distribution system could allow labor value to be more adequately reflected in the broader economic cycle.
