Germany's Territorial Protection Command to Expand from 6,500 to Over 10,000 Personnel by 2035

According to the commander of Germany's Territorial Protection Command, the unit will expand from its current 6,500 personnel to over 10,000 by 2035. Established last year as part of the Bundeswehr, the force comprises both reserve and active-duty soldiers under the Army's command. Unlike Germany's three army divisions, which can be deployed abroad during wartime under NATO's centralized command structure, the Territorial Protection Command will remain stationed within German territory to defend the homeland.
