German DAX 30 index closed up 0.87% at 25,804.17 points today, with cumulative gains of approximately 4.7% for the week.

Other major European indices also posted modest gains: France's CAC 40 rose 0.45%, Italy's FTSE MIB advanced 0.75% with the banking sector up 0.56%, and the UK's FTSE 100 climbed 0.18%.
