GENIUS Act Takes Effect One Year On, U.S. Regulators Still Drafting Stablecoin Rules

According to ChainCatcher, President Donald Trump signed the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act (GENIUS Act) one year ago, establishing the first federal regulatory framework for stablecoins in the United States. The act requires federal regulators to develop governance rules covering stablecoin issuer reserves, governance, and operational requirements.

Implementation details remain under development by the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and other agencies.
