Gaon Cable Q2 Operating Profit Surges 55.5% YoY on U.S. AI Datacenter Investment Demand

According to Yonhap Infomax, South Korean cable manufacturer Gaon Cable (000500) reported consolidated Q2 operating profit of 36.13 billion won on July 20, up 55.5% year-over-year, with revenue reaching 869.39 billion won, a 35.1% increase. The growth was driven by rising demand for power cables and busducts linked to expanded U.S. AI datacenter and renewable energy investments.

Gaon Cable's first-half cumulative operating profit reached 63.97 billion won, up 41.8% from the prior year, while revenue hit 1.63 trillion won, up 27.3%. The company's U.S. subsidiary LSCUS is projected to achieve approximately double its prior-year revenue in 2026 on increased cable supply to AI datacenters and solar facilities.
