FTX Distributes $900 Million to Creditors on July 31, Some Classes Hit 120% Recovery

According to the FTX Recovery Trust, the exchange will distribute approximately $900 million to creditors on July 31, 2026, marking the fifth payout since its November 2022 Chapter 11 filing. The distribution pushes cumulative recoveries above 100% across most creditor classes—a rare outcome in bankruptcies of this scale.

Convenience claims reach a cumulative 120% recovery, while dotcom and U.S. customer claims reach 105%. General unsecured and digital asset loan claims reach 103%. Eligible creditors who completed KYC verification and provider selection by the June 16 record date will receive funds through BitGo, Kraken, or Payoneer within one to three business days. Total recoveries since the Chapter 11 Plan took effect in January 2025 now approach $10 billion, according to The Block.
