FSS Issues Inspection Opinion Against Dunamu Over 44.5 Billion Won Upbit Hack, Launches Sanctions

According to the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), South Korea's financial regulator issued an inspection opinion to Dunamu, operator of crypto exchange Upbit, on July 19, launching formal sanctions procedures related to a 44.5 billion won ($33.4 million) hacking incident that occurred on November 27, 2025. The inspection concludes approximately seven months after the FSS initiated its investigation into the security breach at South Korea's largest crypto exchange.
